About
I'm Ugo Giordano, a Senior Software Engineer at Red Hat on the OpenShift AI platform team, where I contribute to the Kubernetes operators that power the platform and focus on hardening its security posture. I work across 20+ repositories, building Go libraries, admission webhooks, and CI/CD automation. Recent work includes remediating a platform-wide RBAC misconfiguration across 22 operators and automating security assessments across 135+ repositories using AI-powered analysis.
I hold a Ph.D. in Software Reliability Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, where I researched SDN control plane reliability. During that work I contributed to Nokia Bell Labs' NetUnix project and co-authored papers on SDN control plane performance testing and static analysis prioritization.
At Red Hat I work across the Kubernetes and AI/ML stack. I'm a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Certified Engineer (RHCE), and hold eight Red Hat certifications in total. My day-to-day involves Go, Python, TypeScript and the cloud-native toolchain. Beyond security, I spend a lot of time building tools that make engineering workflows faster and less manual. I'm particularly interested in how AI integrates into real developer tooling, not as a chatbot but as an agent that can actually do things.
Before the PhD I competed in the International Olympiad in Informatics. These days I care about security, reliability, testing and building things that actually work in production.
